C&E with Ferulic Acid Kit
DIY C&E with Ferulic Acid Kit
We’ve had so many requests for a DIY C&E with Ferulic serum that we set about to duplicate SkinCeutical's CE Ferulic for you. Like the original patented CE Ferulic, this serum contains 15% L-Ascorbic Acid with 1% d-Alpha Tocopherol and Ferulic Acid to stabilize it. CE Ferulic is an antioxidant combination that protects against photoaging by neutralizing free radicals, helping to build collagen and providing antioxidant protection.
This is a patented product so you shouldn’t sell it, but for the DIY formulator making things for their own use, you’ll find this duplication quick, easy and inexpensive to make!
The kit includes all the ingredients you need to create 200 grams (6.6 ounces) of our C&E with Ferulic Acid as shown in our Formulary. All you'll need to provide is distilled water. Click on the Formulary tab to review the formula and procedures for more information on how it's done. Please note, due to the small amounts of some materials needed in this formulation, it is difficult to make less than the full amount, or at least 1/2 of it. To maximize oxidative stability and extend the shelf life of the unused product, we recommend you store it in the refrigerator until needed.
This formula, like all the formulas we create, should be created by weighing your ingredients with a scale that will measure accurately to 1/10th or 1/100th of a gram. The kit comes with MORE ingredients than you will need to make this formulation (for example, you receive 15 grams of Laureth-23, but only need 6 grams), so weighing is essential to success. If you don't have a scale, we recommend purchasing either a Jennings JSR-200 or an MX500 Scale and we're offering a 10% discount on these scales when purchased with the kit! The JSR-200 will weigh as little as 1/100th of a gram, but only up to 200 grams. The MX500 will weigh as little as 1/10th of a gram, but up to 500 grams. Choose the scale that best fits your needs. We prefer the greater accuracy of the JSR-200 for this formulation.
The Jennings JS200XV scale weighs up to 200g (7 ounces) and as little as 0.01g (0.0005 oz).
The My Weigh MX500 scale weigh up to 500g (17.7 ounces) and as little as 0.1g (0.005 oz).
As these scales have limited weighing capacity, you must use beakers that are light weight for measuring your ingredients -- typical Pyrex beakers will be too heavy!
As an option, you can also include 7 White 30ml Airless Containers to package your serum and you'll receive a 15% discount when they are ordered with the kit!
An additional option includes our MiniPro Mixer, as a small mixer is essential to make this formulation at this small quantity.
To review the Airless Containers, the MiniPro MIxer, and the Jennings JS200XV and My Weigh MX500 Scales, click on the "You may also like..." Tab above. But, you'll need to order them from this page to receive the discounts on the scale and containers.
